Social Studies 9D, 9E, 9G

We are now in the process of finishing up our Global Issues notes. Students will be having a quiz based on this information. Please encourage your son or daughter to review their notes in advance for the quiz. I will be discussing with each class tomorrow the date of their quiz. Also, we are now moving into the last few weeks of our school year. Each year in Social Studies I have my students do a Political Song assignment. We discuss which songs possibly qualify as having a political theme. I provide a couple of examples and then I let the students do a little computer lab research, looking for a song that interests them. Each student will then play the song for the class (which I can do for them over youtube), displaying the lyrics (on a word document) and then explaining what this songs means. All students will be provided with a rubric to indicate the areas that they will be graded.
