L.A. 9-3, 9-7

This has been a busy term so far.  We worked on elements of a persuasive text and students have had the opportunity to see persuasive texts and practise this type of writing.  Students have handed in one paper and also had the opporuntity to write a persuasive prompt assessment.  We also worked on the Personal Narrative.   Students worked through a handout of exercises to practise this type of writing and were exposed to a couple of different styles of personal narratives.  Students have handed in their assigned personal narratives and I hope to have them back to students within a week.
Presently I am doing a read aloud with my L.A. classes.  The novel is called To See You Again.  We are about five chapters into the book now. The book is also available at the Summerside Library or can be purchased through Amazon.com.  It is not necessary for students to have a copy, but some students prefer to also read along at home.  If any students are having difficulty following the story, they are welcome to come in before or after classes and discuss events and details with me or they may read my copy after school.  There will be a series of quizzes and assignments that students will be responsible for thougout the reaign of this novel.
