Welcome back everyone. I trust that all of my students have shown their parents the course outline for grade 9 L.A., which details the areas we will cover over the course of the school year.
Currently, we have started our first novel study, Forbidden City. This novel is a historical fiction, which portrays fictional characters who experience the horror of the Tian An Men Square Massacre. Please encourage your son or daughter to discuss what they are learning throughout this novel study. This novel is divided into blocks rather than chapters, since it has been written as a travel journal. At the end of each block, students are responsible for writing a full one page summary (single spaced) and then answering the questions from their booklet in their novel studies scribbler. Most students are now nearing the end of the block and should be soon working on their summary. The summary and questions will be due on Tuesday, September 21.
