Social Studies - Election 2008

This past week we started with discussions of the Federal Election. We have discussed what a democracy is and how democracies around the world my differ. We are now in the process of discussing how our electoral process works, with specific emphasis on our local representatives and the political parties that they represent. Elections Canada has sent our class a package that will allow students to participate in a mock vote. Please encourage your child to follow the news of the party platforms during the next 2 weeks.
